The nose behind Hermès since 2004, master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena is a true leader in the art of perfumery. 

Building his career from the ground up, Ellena first stepped foot in the perfume world selling jasmine to perfumers with his grandmother in Grasse and has since created some of the world’s most alluring scents. 

Profoundly influenced by pioneering perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, and his article Advice to a Young Perfumer, Ellena himself has detailed his perfume journey in his autobiography - Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent, as well as The Diary of a Nose: A Year in the Life of a Parfumeur.

In collaboration with Laboratorio Olfattivo founder Robert Drago, his decades of expertise and a steadfast passion for rare ingredients have culminated in the luxurious Master’s Collection scents of Baliflora, Tuberosis and Mandarino.
