The Art of Fragrance Layering

The Art of Fragrance Layering

Fragrance doesn’t have to be a single choice. Layering, or scent stacking, offers a more personal way to wear it.

By combining two fragrances, you can create something more nuanced, a composition that shifts, softens or brightens throughout the day.

For International Fragrance Day, we invite you to explore this approach through a curated edit designed for layering.

A softer, skin-like base can be lifted with citrus or aromatics. A green floral can be deepened with woods and warmth. The result is not simply two scents worn together, but something entirely new.

A few simple principles guide the process. Start with hydrated skin so fragrance wears more evenly. Apply your deeper or softer scent first as a base, then layer your second fragrance. Allow each to settle before applying the next, and avoid rubbing the skin.

To make it easier to begin, we’ve created three starting points.

Mediterranean Sparkle
Milky Musk / 39 layered with Ortigia Bergamotto
Fresh bergamot softened by creamy musk and sandalwood

Modern Classic
Marie Jeanne Vétiver Santal layered with Rhizome 03
Herbaceous citrus balanced with vetiver and woods

Elegant Contrast
Marie Jeanne Rose Shiso layered with Orange X Santal
Green rose lifted with citrus, woods and spice

These pairings are not rules, but a foundation to explore from. We can’t wait to see what you create.

To celebrate, receive a complimentary discovery set when you purchase any two fragrances. Simply add your preferred set at checkout: ROADS, Parle Moi de Parfum or Essential Parfums. Available until 28 March or while stocks last.

Throughout March, as part of our International Women’s Day initiative Give to Gain, Lusso will donate 10% of online sales to The Salvation Army Australia, supporting family violence services.
